Here is my latest commission portrait piece. I was more than a little intimidated when I saw that red hair and fair skin. This is a testament to the slow and steady build up of color.

Rich Crescent Rolls
I made these the other day. They are my grandmother's rich crescent rolls. They are not as easy as the kind that you pop open from a tube but they are worth the extra effort!http://lpanfil.hubpages.com/hub/richcrescentrolls

Free Book Bag Pattern
My 13 year old daughter has outgrown her backpack days. It is a book bag she now prefers. But, our search for just the right size, shape and color came up empty. Fortunately, she loves what I whipped up on my sewing machine and you might too.

Tip for Wayward Threads
My mom who has been sewing forever, came into my craft room and said "that is smart." I take masking tape and create a loop with the sticky side on the outside and stick it next to my sewing machine. When I cut threads from my work, I just stick them to the tape. No more threads all over my work or the floor! When the tape gets too full of threads I just remove it from the table, toss and make a new one.
