Circle into Square

Check out these vibrant colors. Shhh, this is the start of my niece's graduation gift.
Pattern:
ch 4; join with sl in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd. 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), 11 dc in ring; join with sl st in top of beg ch - 12 sts.
Rnd. 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around; join with sl st in top of beg ch; change color in last st - 24 sts.
Rnd. 3:  Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, 3 dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st *sc in next 2 sts., hdc in next st, 3 dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st; rep from* twice more: join with sl st in first sc- 32 sts.
Rnd. 4: Ch 3, dc in next 3 sts, 5 dc in next st, dc in next 3 sts, *dc in next 4 sts, 5 dc in next st., dc in next 3 sts; rep from * twice more; join with sl st in top of beg ch; change color
Rnd. 5: Ch 3, dc in next 5 sts., 5 dc in next st, dc in next 5 sts, *dc in next 6 sts, 5 dc in next st, dc in next 5 sts; rep from * twice more; join with sl st in top of beg ch - 64 sts.
